Austin, Texas – February 9th, 2023
Flywheel UPS specialist Active Power achieved record order intake in 2022 with sales doubling year on year in the US.
The record order book is a result of the company’s ability to respond to growing interest in flywheel UPS technology thanks to its footprint, efficiency, sustainability, reliability and total cost of ownership benefits over batteries.
To add to this, the company’s tight control over its supply chain, combined with improved operational efficiencies, has resulted in lead times from as low as 10-15 weeks, often less than half that of the competition.
Jack Pearce, CEO, Active Power, says:
“Interest in Active Power’s flywheels for clean, reliable, sustainable power protection is surging. All business sectors are experiencing the pressures of rising energy costs along with the necessity to protect essential power, while at the same time needing to address long term sustainability goals. Active Power flywheel technology outlasts degrading batteries with no reduction in runtime for its entire operating lifespan of 20+ years. The CLEANSOURCE® technology achieves unrivalled efficiencies of up to 98%, and can operate at higher ambient temperatures than batteries, which significantly reduces energy consumption. Our UPS are chemical-free and manufactured almost entirely of recyclable materials here in our Austin Texas Manufacturing Facility. The patented design is inherently more reliable and requires less maintenance and planned downtime. These are just some of the many boxes we check for our customers, whilst also achieving industry-beating lead times.”
Active Power continues to successfully navigate global supply-chain challenges and is now better positioned than ever to serve a rapidly growing customer base, creating a platform for further growth in 2023.
